Help Shape VPMA’s Future: 2026 Board Nominations Are Open
VPMA is a member-directed organization, and one of the most important ways members help shape the future of the Association is through service on the VPMA Board of Directors.
The 2026 Call for Board Nominations is now open, and the Nominations Committee is looking for engaged members who are interested in helping guide VPMA’s programs, priorities and future direction.
This year, three Director seats, three Regional Director seats representing Northern Virginia, Southwest Virginia and Central Virginia, and each Officer position are subject to election. Several current Board members are expected to seek re-election, but nominations are open and the committee encourages members to consider putting their names forward.
The initial slate of nominations will be distributed on September 24, 2026. Members may continue to submit additional nominations through October 9. The final slate and election ballot will then be distributed to eligible voting members on October 12, 2026.
Who Should Consider Serving?
You do not need years of committee experience or previous VPMA leadership service to be considered.
The Nominations Committee is seeking members representing different areas of the Commonwealth, company sizes, professional backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. The most important qualification is a willingness to participate, contribute and be engaged in the strategic direction of VPMA.
Candidates must work for a pest management firm that is a current Active Member of VPMA with no outstanding financial obligations to the Association.
What Is the Commitment?
The Board typically meets four times each year—in February, May, August and November. Two meetings are generally virtual and two are held in person in Richmond. Board members also participate in a day-and-a-half planning meeting in December.
Depending on committee assignments, Board members may participate in additional virtual meetings or projects throughout the year. Officers and Executive Committee members have additional responsibilities.
Interested? Put Your Name Forward.
Don’t assume someone else needs to nominate you. Self-nominations are encouraged.
The Nominations Committee will begin reviewing candidates in early September, so members interested in Board service are encouraged to submit the 2026 VPMA Board Nomination Form as soon as possible.
